Design For Print & Web: Working with Purple

To to experiment with how the colour purple is going to work in the context of the design I'm going to be creating I started to create mock up of the channel using the colour purple. The results are bellow. The colour works well and is both readable and legible but it is looking more and more like E4 which is a big worry to me at this point.
