Although this poster is very typographically heavy the hierarchy of type allows to information to be communicated clearly and effectively. I think this has primarily been achieved through the contrasting use of serif and sans-serif typefaces. Furthermore the importance of importance of information also divides the poster in half as the most important information is larger a dominates the top half of the poster, whereas the secondary information is smaller in scale and occupies the lower half of the poster. Weight has also been used effectively in areas that are more information dense, such as information regarding tickets sales, weight and scale have been used to create a separate hierarchy within the poster.

The type hierarchy within this poster in effectively using scale make the title of the show dominate the poster, this is most important piece of information on the poster. The same typeface in smaller scales and weights have then been used to compliment the title and add secondary information to the primary piece of information. Additionally a further typeface has been added to communicate the address and other contact information at the bottom of the poster, with this information being optional it is placed at the bottom of the poster. The widely kerned type allows for easily readability and legibility and the varying scales with large line spacings makes the poster legible from a distance.

As the typography is positioned at the top of the poster it has not made use of the space provided by the rest of the page. Therefore the typography is cramped into the top half of the poster and therefore legibility had been sacrificed. However the typography remain readable and use of one style of serif typeface contributes to this.
